I’m two weeks in at the new job and I definitely

I’m two weeks in at the new job and I definitely owe y’all an update because 👀 much has changed. One thing that took us by surprise was Esposo’s new shift schedule assigned the week I started - and it’s a rough one 🥴 we’re talking working 4 days straight, 4 nights straight and 4 days off (which barely feels like 3 days off due to making up for lack of sleep)

First off, anyone who has a partner in shift work… God bless you 😭

Honestly though, I’ve only really had ONE night like this because the rest of the weekend was spent at my parents. And I’m sure other weeknights that Lance will be working won’t feel so chaotic since this night took a lot of planning and packing for the trip to Nola and unexpected daycare water day 🫠 but LAWDDDDD this night would have been so much easier with Lance at home.

Maybe I should hop on lives when Lance works nights so we can have mommy chats. I’ve got to fill y’all in on what’s been happening with work anyway 😏

Big changes happening over here! It’s bitterswe

Big changes happening over here! It’s bittersweet but I am definitely excited about this new chapter in my life! I did have this big expectation to fill the summer with fun memories for the girls, while applying to different positions hoping to start when they would start back up with school. But I was hired to join an awesome team and my plans were adjusted a bit.

I will say this… I haven’t worked in an office in about 10 years. So it’ll be an adjustment for my marriage (Lance has only ever known me to work for myself and from home), but also just as a mom. Last time I interviewed to work for other companies, I was single… no kids. This is a whole other ballgame, thinking about how a job will effect my life with my family and how my life with my family will effect my job. I’ve never had to consider school drop offs and pickups and life with kids can be so unpredictable!

But here’s what I’ve weighed out so far…

PROS
- actively applying skills learned
- getting out of the house everyday 😅
- interacting with adults on a day to day
- playing dress up
- consistent income

CONS
- I miss my girls terribly 😭

But change can be good and I’m looking forward to where this journey will take me. I’ll still be making content though 🥰

Any suggestions on making that work/life balance feel a little more balanced are more than welcome.
