For me, being a hair and beauty blogger for so many years just didn’t feel natural. It was filled with fluff and filters and this unnecessary need to seem perfect. I’ve quickly learned as a new mom that nothing is perfect, and that’s okay.
Hey Y’all! I’m Rocío! Rocío Isabel if we’re sticking to the blog name! I’m a 35 year old self-titled superwoman! That’s how I feel after these last couple of years as a new mom! Seriously, this journey has been incredible and I intend to celebrate all aspects of it! I’m also married to my wonderful husband, Lance, and currently live somewhere in the woody parts of Baton Rouge, Louisiana – just shy of the beautiful chaos that is my hometown of New Orleans. I am of strong Mexican and Honduran roots and will never turn away an opportunity to share what I love about being Latina. (It’s everything… I love everything about being Latina!)
If you’ve been with me since my RisasRizos days, then you know that I’ve been mainly sharing my experience about curls. That was 8 years ago. EIGHT! To be honest, from very early on, I’ve had this urge to share about so much more in my life. I never wanted it to just be about hair. That was never my intention. I sort of fell into the hole of a niche and it snowballed into what it has been for so long, a platform to encourage others to love and embrace their curls.
But as the years went on, changes in my life led me to want to share so much more than what I put in my hair to make it coil. And with the evolution of me, I felt it was only appropriate to evolve this platform too! So here I am, reintroducing myself. I’m letting go of the RisasRizos and I’m fulling embracing all of me – Rocío Isabel.
So in this blog, you’ll get a little of everything. All of the things that make me ME! From this new journey into motherhood and the married life, to faith, travel, fashion and food! Of course, I’ll continue to share my favorite beauty finds (and yes, that does include for hair too!)

I hope that you can join me on this new chapter in my blogging life. I have enjoyed sharing so much with you in these last 8 years. And if you’re new here, then welcome! I hope you’ll stick around!
Un Besito,
Rocío Isabel
