AVRE Energee Series Sneaker

I’ve been more active lately in my day-to-day activities and with that, I’ve been needing comfortable shoes. I had been on the look out for sneakers that I could use while both running errands and working out! So when I spotted an email from AVRE wanting to gift me a pair of their sneakers, I was definitely intrigued! Mainly because these sneakers are eco-friendly and sustainable!

So if you haven’t heard, AVRE is a trendy and sustainable footwear line made with empowered women in mind! AVRE stands for Authenticity, Versatility, Responsibility, and Empowerment! AVRE wants to leave behind as little of a carbon footprint as possible. So through their innovation production process and use of materials, they are able to make sneakers out of plastic bottles! How cool is that?!

If you check out their website, they’ve got a great breakdown of the process, but essentially recycled plastic bottles are washed and chopped into tiny flakes. Those tiny flakes get melted down and formed into “chips”. The “chips” are melted, reformulated, and then spun into yarn. GENIUS! Not only are they trying to reduce their carbon footprint, they also donate 10% of proceeds to Oceana and Girls in Tech.
