Daddy Daughter Date Ideas

Ever since before I can remember, I always told myself that if I ever had a girl, I’d want her to go on Daddy Daughter Dates as early as she can in her life! Now that I have a 19 month old on my hands, I want her father to start taking her out. I spend so much time with our girl that I notice my husband has just a few short hours after coming home from work and on the weekends when he doesn’t have to work on the house. I see how much he craves more bonding time with her and I jump at any opportunity for her to have 1-on-1 time with his princess! I mean, honestly… I could use that time alone to do my own thing, haha! Plus I can see in her eyes how much she loves her daddy and how much fun she has doing activities with him! She really is a daddy’s girl!

So here are 10 fun Daddy-Daughter Date Ideas. With Valentine’s Day coming up, I thought this would be a great opportunity for them to have some special time together!

10 Daddy Daugther Date Ideas

  • Paint pottery – There are many cities that have pottery and paint classes. You go in, chose your pottery (they are usually priced depending on the size) and you spend your time painting it to your liking. Then leave it there, and the shop will call you when your piece is done!
  • Have a Lunch Date – Does your little one love pizza? Mac and Cheese? Find a restaurant near by that serves the best and have them spent the afternoon eating their favorite foods!
  • Bowling – Most bowling alleys have light enough bowling balls for kids and toddlers. With the guard up, daddies and daughters have better chances of rolling strikes!
  • Neighborhood Scavenger Hunt – I saw this on Instagram and thought it was the cutest thing. Print a list of a few photos of things you’d normally find in your neightborhood.
  • Ice Cream Date – I remember getting ice cream with my dad a lot when I was a kid. I hope Lance and Penelope make some of the same fun memories together going to get ice cream and picking outrageous toppings!
  • Built and Paint a Birdhouse Together – I think this would be something I’d push for my own husband and baby. We already have two bird feeders, but what’s one more? Especially if it’s hand made! What a fun idea to build a birdhouse and paint it together!
  • Bike Ride Date – Why not take a stroll around a lake or park, or even in your neighborhood. Riding bikes together is one of my favorite past times with my own dad! Have a baby or toddler that can’t ride their own bike just yet? Try a bike attachment like this one!
  • Visit A Children’s Museum – There is so much to find and explore in a children’s or science museum. Something for all ages!
  • Build a Fort – Can’t leave the house? Build a fort in the living room. Stack some pillows, hang some bed sheets, grab the flashlight and read stories in the fort!
  • Plant something together – Still one of my favorite ways to make memories together. Whether its by planting a tree, a flower or vegetable garden, or anything of that nature, once it’s planted, both daddy and the little one will take much pride in watching it continue to grow!
