Lots of celebrations coming in these next couple of weeks. We’re bringing out the heels, the dresses and cute updos to celebrate the night! Many of you seem to love these updo/hairstyle posts so I’m excited to share another with you! Here’s another easy curly hair updo that you can rock for any occasion!
I’m working on day two curls for this look! It much more full and I always get more volume than if I were to work on my curls after washing on day 1. I basically take my hair and separate it into three sections: two separate sections near the top of my head for the twists we will create, and a back section for the ponytail. We’ll start with the ponytail first.
I created a low ponytail using a black hair tie. If you have lighter hair, perhaps consider using a clear plastic elastic. When creating the ponytail, the lower the better!
I then take one of the sections towards the top part of my hair. I start to twist, taking a little bit more hair with each twist, working my way towards the back of my hair until I’ve reached the ponytail. I then secure the twist to the ponytail (basically wrapping it over the top of the ponytail and securing it on the other side) using a bobby pin.
I do the exact same thing to the other side, twisting and taking a little bit more hair with each twist. I work my way towards the back of my hair until I’ve reached the ponytail and then secure it in place with the bobby pin.
Then, with the hair in the ponytail (and extra pieces bobby pinned around it), I roll my hair upwards to create a chignon and secure the roll in place with bobby pins.
Just to ensure that my curls stay in place, I turn to a light hairspray like this one by Tresemme! It’s been my go-to for updos, sleek buns, and any other curly hairstyle. It keeps my curls in check and the frizzies at bay!
A light spray is great for maintaining texture. I love to see the waves and ripples in this hairstyle, especially in the bun! So this hairspray is great for invisible hold without the crunch. It’s fast drying and I love that when I take my curls down at the end of the night, a good shake will leave my curls ready for the next day without having to rewash. Why? Because this hairspray gives my textured style a touchable hold!
I give it a good spray to secure my updo and even spray a little on my hair and smooth the center part of my hair to avoid the flyaways later. This spray is humidity resistant too, thank GOODNESS because the humidity in New Orleans tonight is nothing to play with!
And here it is, my favorite curly hair updo to wear on naturally curly hair because it truly is the easiest hairstyle for curls! Want more hairstyles for your curls? Check out a few others I have here on the blog! Let me now if you ever get a chance to try this look out!
